A lot of people do not understand the right importance of mindset. As Henry Ford said “Whether you think you can or you can´t, you are right.”.
Let me tell you a bit about my background:
We have all been there. I used to work for an international health and wellness MLM company as a Sales & Marketing Coordinator. One of my responsibilities was business and product training. One would say I had all the knowledge about healthy lifestyle I needed. But one thing is knowing and another thing is applying the knowledge.
I used to skip breakfast, I would come to the office and have a cup of coffee with milk and sugar. Around 10am I would have some sweet pastry for a snack, then I would have a takeaway for lunch, then another sweet snackie, or fruit on a good day, and then I would either pick up takeaway on the way home or I would eat out. I am not trying to say that I would be eating chips and burger every single day, but let’s say that McDonalds, Chinese takeaway, carbonated drinks, sugary snacks and coffee were nothing unusual for me.
I never considered myself to be a fat person but I was not where I am now physically and health wise. I was a sugar and coffee addict, I was tired all the time and I loved unhealthy food.
I only started taking my health seriously when I met my husband at the end of 2014. He was on his journey to getting more healthy and thanks to his great empowerment and motivational skills he gave me the link that was missing – mindset.
When you have the right mindset, everything is much easier. It is 80% nutrition, 20% exercise, but everything is based on 100% mindset. If you do not believe it, you will not achieve it.
My biggest breakthrough in my healthy lifestyle and getting lean came in April 2016 when I was shopping for my wedding dress as our wedding was planned for July 2016. I went to about six shops but did not really like any dress I saw. Then I went to this one shop and I found this lovely dress, but I did not buy it – it was so tight on my tummy and my hips that I could not sit in it, let alone eat in it or dance in it. It was a small size 10 and my trousers were size 12 at that time.
I remember my husband calling me after I left the shop and I told him that I found an amazing dress, but it was too tight for me. And his reply was: “Well, you still have almost 4 months to do something about it.” I went and bought the dress and my “eating clean and getting lean” journey started. I adjusted my diet, I was working out on regular basis and on 17th July 2016 I fit in the dress beautifully, even had extra space to enjoy all the food that was provided on the day.
Since then I have been learning about various nutrition and workout approaches and finding what works the best for me and my husband.
